The Dog Pound League Rules

Regarding Personal Rules Conduct

Thou shalt have fun.

The most important rule above any other is to have FUN. This is the fundamental value that has brought us together and will continue to foster our future growth.

Being a Dog Pound member is a privilege not a right. The staff of the Pound work very hard to see that the games are fun for everyone. They do this many times without even a thank you. Please show them the respect that they deserve. Anyone who is caught harassing or disrespecting the staff, causing disruptions of ANY kind, or doing anything that keeps the TD's from carrying out their responsibilities, will be warned and possibly boxed from league play. Continuous harassment could result in removal from the league.

Do unto others as you would have others do unto you in like case. All members of the Dog Pound, must be kind and respect to one another at all times!! No fighting or disruptive behavior is allowed in the lobby, and will not be tolerated. This ruins everyone's fun. If you have a problem with someone, take it into private. If you can not solve your problem, then bring it to an ADMIN's attention and we will help to solve it. Any fighting in the lobby will result in 3 to 30 days in the penalty box, depending on the severity of the situation. NO EXCEPTIONS!

We expect our members to refrain from using profanity and minimize the use of CAPS in the lobby. We understand that we are all adults, however, profanity and CAPPING is offensive and disruptive to some and we want this league to be fun for everyone. We are all here to have fun, so please try to keep this in mind. If you repeatedly use profanity you will be boxed for 1-5 days.

AT NO TIME SHOULD ANYONE GO TO ANOTHER LOBBY AND ADVERTISE FOR PEOPLE TO JOIN OUR LEAGUE. DO NOT IM OTHER LEAGUES MEMBERS AND INVITE THEM TO JOIN OUR LEAGUE. DOING SO CAN AND WILL GET OUR LEAGUE IN A LOT OF TROUBLE AND WILL GET YOU BOXED

Under no circumstances is any league member or staff member allowed to register ANOTHER league member for a tournament. Each member must register for oneself; EVEN staff may not do this for members..

Rules Regarding Game Play

You will never be asked to force forfeit (FF) a game/tourney in this league. Should we hear of members doing such, can and will result in a three to five day suspension from The Dog Pound.

During tournaments you are allowed 2 BRBs and 1 BOOT from yahoo, or 10 minutes of missing in action (MIA), which ever comes first. If you are noticed to be frozen, the length of your idle time will be subtracted from a 10 minute MIA. For example if you freeze in game and cannot play but have not been booted by yahoo--your idle time will be checked and subtracted from the 10 minutes allowed for MIA. After that allocated time is up your opponent will be awarded the win and advance to the next round of the tournament. If a player is noted to have slow play (more than 2 minutes to play) – the TD will award the slow player one of their 2 BRBs. Should a player have a third BRB, this will result in a disqualification (DQ) and the game will be awarded to the opponent and the game will be canceled.

During games we would appreciate good sportsmanship like saying good game or good hand at the end of each game/hand respectively.

When time expires in either a singles or doubles tournament the hand will be allowed to play out. At the end of that hand the player with the higher score will be awarded the win, and the game will be canceled.

ALL league games must be played using a registered league name.
